How To Remove Coffee Or Tea Stains From Carpet

Nobody ever plans on having their beautiful new carpet stained but, yet, it always happens. Unless you live as though your home is a museum, spills and the resulting stains are a fact of life. Given this reality, knowing how to take care of various types of products that cause the need for carpet stain removal is important indeed. There are many key items known for their staining ability. Coffee and tea are among the top of the list and together account for a large percentage of overall stains on carpets, upholstery and rugs everywhere. If you are in need of carpet stain removal due to a spill of either coffee or tea, there are a few things you can try before you need to pick up the phone to call a professional.

One of the least known techniques and products that can effectively combat tea or coffee spilled onto a carpet is the good old standard baby wipe. Yes, that's right. The chemicals in the wipe are great at dissolving the tea and coffee stain in carpet. Using the baby wipe, blot the stain in a light manner from the outer edges in toward the center. This can also be done if coffee or tea has been spilled on any upholstery or even an item of clothing. Another interesting home remedy for coffee and tea that has found its way onto your carpet is a mix of baking soda and water. Create a paste (very stiff paste) with the combination and rub it into the affected area. Ironically, this mixture is also highly effective at removing the same stain from any china or other cup and saucer that may be used to serve the coffee or tea.

Coffee Tips and Tricks

Caffeine Content Inside Coffee

Merely because you might be drinking a dark roast coffee does not mean your coffee has more caffeine in it. This is just the way the beans were prepared, not how much caffeine is in them. If your coffee has the term Robusta on it's packaging, it usually has twice the amount of caffeine as standard Arabica coffee.

To save money by getting bulk coffee without sacrificing flavor, measure out what you plan to use immediately and store it at room temperature. Coffee tastes best when it's brewed from room temperature grounds. Coffee you plan to use within the next week can go in the refrigerator, and the remaining beans or grounds should go in the freezer.

Coffee tastes a lot better when it is fresh brewed, and its actually lower in caffeine if consumed right after it is made. Some people are particular about only using spring water or water in bottles to make it, while others seem to think plain works just fine for making good coffee. Personally, I prefer filtered water myself.

Be sure the water you are using in your coffee maker is fresh, clean and tastes well. Your coffee will only taste as good as the water you are using to make it. You may want to have a taste of the water before putting in the coffee maker to brew.

Coffee Storage and Brewing

Does your coffee get stale because you cannot drink it quick enough? You ought to store it in an airtight container. Put your weekly dose of coffee in to a smaller container and keep it in your freezer so it stays fresh. Store the rest of your coffee in a larger airtight container and open it only when you need to refill your smaller container.

The Secret Coffee War That Nobody Knows About

Coffee, the most consumed beverage on the planet next to water. In the last 10 years there has been a major shift in the business world. All the major CEO's of the restaurant industries are all heading towards one thing, its called coffee.

It all started with Starbucks when they were marketing their coffee in such away that people are willing to pay $5.00 a cup. It is said for every 7 cents it costs Starbucks to make coffee, they make $15 profit. Those are massive profit margins and you wonder why Starbucks has been opening more and more stores.

Companies like McDonald's wanted a piece of that pie so their major board members went to work to see how they can profit in the coffee business. After shifting most of their advertising dollars to coffee, they brought out their McCafe brand. Didn't you notice their commercials never cater towards their burgers or happy meals any more. They are pushing their McCafe brand and they started out with sampling their Coffee for free. This was genius because their McCafe brand makes more profits and revenue than their burgers.

Tips for Making Great Coffee

Coffee is one of the World's favorite beverages. There's nothing like a good cup of coffee and there's nothing worse than a bad cup of coffee. Here are some tips to help you make great coffee every time.

Tip 1: Grind it yourself. Freshly ground beans are fresher and more flavorful than any ground coffee that you could buy in the store, even the expensive stuff. Fresh grinding means great taste and full bodied aroma every time.

Tip 2: Start with quality beans. Don't just buy anything. Even un-ground coffee beans vary in quality. The quality has to do with where they were situated in the roaster at the time of roasting. No roaster heats absolutely evenly; therefore, some beans will be roasted more than others and some may be over roasted. The ones that don't "cook" properly are packaged and sold as cheaper brands.

Tip 3: Use quality equipment. A high quality coffee machine will make better coffee than the cheap eight dollar coffee maker for sale at the local discount store. The main difference is in how well the brewing basket seals and the way the hot water is sprayed into the coffee. Good quality coffee makers have a shower head above the brew basket, not just a hole or a few holes to let the water through.
