Coffee Tips and Tricks

Caffeine Content Inside Coffee

Merely because you might be drinking a dark roast coffee does not mean your coffee has more caffeine in it. This is just the way the beans were prepared, not how much caffeine is in them. If your coffee has the term Robusta on it's packaging, it usually has twice the amount of caffeine as standard Arabica coffee.

To save money by getting bulk coffee without sacrificing flavor, measure out what you plan to use immediately and store it at room temperature. Coffee tastes best when it's brewed from room temperature grounds. Coffee you plan to use within the next week can go in the refrigerator, and the remaining beans or grounds should go in the freezer.

Coffee tastes a lot better when it is fresh brewed, and its actually lower in caffeine if consumed right after it is made. Some people are particular about only using spring water or water in bottles to make it, while others seem to think plain works just fine for making good coffee. Personally, I prefer filtered water myself.

Be sure the water you are using in your coffee maker is fresh, clean and tastes well. Your coffee will only taste as good as the water you are using to make it. You may want to have a taste of the water before putting in the coffee maker to brew.

Coffee Storage and Brewing

Does your coffee get stale because you cannot drink it quick enough? You ought to store it in an airtight container. Put your weekly dose of coffee in to a smaller container and keep it in your freezer so it stays fresh. Store the rest of your coffee in a larger airtight container and open it only when you need to refill your smaller container.

It is a bad idea to let coffee sit on a hot burner after brewing. Keeping the heat on will cause your coffee to "cook," and will ruin its freshly-brewed flavor. Instead, unplug your coffee-maker or other appliance, or transfer the coffee to an insulated pot to keep it hot.

Did you know that drinking a cup of joe will improve your exercise? Research indicates that the caffeine in coffee will present you with an awesome boost when consumed just prior to your regular workout. This little lift may perhaps be just what you need to get through your exercise and preform the way you want.

My Ice Coffee Recipe

If you loved your coffee on ice, try cold-brewing your own coffee concentrated. There are many recipes available online; Most entail mixing a few cups of water into several ounces of ground coffee, allowing the mixture to sit overnight. When the grounds are strained out, you are left with a smooth, rich concentrate that can be diluted with milk or water and ice...

I am particularly fond of my ice coffee recipe, my girlfriend Karly just loves when I make it for her! My secret ingredient is cacao (raw cocoa), I also add cinnamon, xylitol or coconut sugar...

I would normally make up around 500ml at a time, one for me and my lady!

As I generally don't drink dairy, I will use soy milk...
500ml of Milk
3-4 teaspoons of coffee
2 teaspoons of Xylitol or Coconut sugar
1 teaspoon cacao
1 teaspoon Org Cinnamon
Ice

Ad ingredients to the blender and mix until thoroughly mixed together... Then add some ice cubes directly into mixture, depending on how thick you would like increase the amount of ice... Serve right into a tall glass and enjoy the mouth watering iced coffee. Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Cameron_JT_O'Shea
