How To Remove Coffee Or Tea Stains From Carpet

Nobody ever plans on having their beautiful new carpet stained but, yet, it always happens. Unless you live as though your home is a museum, spills and the resulting stains are a fact of life. Given this reality, knowing how to take care of various types of products that cause the need for carpet stain removal is important indeed. There are many key items known for their staining ability. Coffee and tea are among the top of the list and together account for a large percentage of overall stains on carpets, upholstery and rugs everywhere. If you are in need of carpet stain removal due to a spill of either coffee or tea, there are a few things you can try before you need to pick up the phone to call a professional.

One of the least known techniques and products that can effectively combat tea or coffee spilled onto a carpet is the good old standard baby wipe. Yes, that's right. The chemicals in the wipe are great at dissolving the tea and coffee stain in carpet. Using the baby wipe, blot the stain in a light manner from the outer edges in toward the center. This can also be done if coffee or tea has been spilled on any upholstery or even an item of clothing. Another interesting home remedy for coffee and tea that has found its way onto your carpet is a mix of baking soda and water. Create a paste (very stiff paste) with the combination and rub it into the affected area. Ironically, this mixture is also highly effective at removing the same stain from any china or other cup and saucer that may be used to serve the coffee or tea.

Another big item that is surprisingly good at helping when you have a need for carpet stain removal due to coffee or tea is beer. All you have to do is simply pour some beer directly onto the affected area and watch it disappear before your very eyes. Now, that being said, you may need to repeat this action a few times, especially if the stain has been allowed to dry even a little bit let alone all the way. But, this technique and product is far more effective than one would ever imagine and definitely worth your time to try.

When you have exhausted these and potentially even more options for removing the residue and stains left from your morning or after dinner coffee or tea from your lovely home's carpet, you will want to look for the best in professional carpet stain removal products and potentially even services. Fortunately there are a wide variety of options for you to choose from in this arena. These even include some more "green" or environmentally friendly products and processes than in days or generations passed. No longer do you need to have a guilty conscience just for the sake of having a clean carpet.

If you are in need of more robust products to combat your carpet stain removal challenge, do some good searching online for the best reviews, products and prices and you will be sure to find something that addresses your needs. You will be rewarded not only with simply cleaner and sharper looking carpets today but with the cost savings associated with not having to replace the same carpet quite as often because you were able to successfully remove stains.

I use bleaching powder to remove the stains of coffee. Vinegar is also a very helpful agent to clear the stains.
