Fair Trade Tea/Coffee - What's the Issue?

Fair trade has become a large social movement that has developed over the years and spread through many different countries in an effort to create better trading conditions, and promote sustainability. Fair trade affects numerous industries but most notably coffee, sugar, tea and wine have been affected. Coffee and tea are two of the largest industries because they are enjoyed by people all over the world and the industries affect everyone from the rich to lower middle class.

Tea and coffee are collected from many nations, some more developed than others, and for a while trading for them involved unfair practices. Various products could be purchased for much less than they are worth which created a dangerous trade related situations. Luckily, there are many companies today who are happy to be a part of the fair trade movement.
